BRIELLE VUURTOREN

Caught this also on the 2nd visit. Best day of weather in the three weeks I have spent in the country. An old vuurtoren built way back. They called it Steenen Baak. The tower sits up on a dike along one of the main canals coming inland from Europoort. You will find this tower west of the town of Brielle. If you are coming down from Maasvlakte and Maasmond, you can see the tower along the horizon on the left as you drive towards Brielle. Take one of the turns and head back toward the tower. You will drive right up over the dike on a narrow little road that ends at a park. You have to walk about 100 hundred yards from the parking area to the tower. 

It is made of brick and very worn looking. Covered with lots of graffiti. I got a picture of the sign, if you can read Dutch. The door was bolted shut.
