JULIANADORP VUURTOREN

You've probably already figured out from the other photos of Dutch vuurtorens, that I didn't have much luck with the weather. I didn't get the chance to walk up to the top of the dike for more shots because it kept raining. Julianadorp was no exception. I took most of these shots from inside the car.
It was easy to find, driving north from Egmond aan Zee on the N9 until the turnoff for Julianadorp. Turn left and drive to the dike. It is visible from the intersection to the left. Go north to Den Helder from here. You can see it only 8 kilometers away in the photo below.
This tower was established in 1868. It is known as Groote Kaap. I did not see it's light pattern or color but I have seen on a Dutch website that it has a white, red, and green light that occults every 10 seconds. The tower is almost 17 meters tall and puts the light 31 meters above the sea. The white light can be seen 11 nautical miles out.
