MAASMOND LICHTOPSTANDEN

I didn't know this place existed when I was here in 2001. But having discovered the whereabouts of most of the lights in the Netherlands, this was now an easy find. Just keep driving past the Maasvlakte Vuurtoren. Go up on the dunes and there they are. They are basically a left and right marker for the entrance to the waterway. I am guessing that lichtopstanden translates into light stand. The big broad top is for helicopter landings to service the station. You will also get a great view of the new Hoek van Holland range lights.
