I could see the Nice harbor from Cap Ferrat and I saw the cruise ship in the photo above, steaming across the bay towards Nice. I'd think it's safe to assume from the age of the buildings and their proximity to the shoreline, that the southern coast of France is not subject to tidal erosion or hurricanes, high waves, etc. 

Nice was another one of these southern French cities along the Mediterranean. Idyllic setting, villas, turquoise sea, cafes along the boardwalk, wine and cheese. But just a small harbor light. Not much to mark on this coast. Just the capes and ports.
