SEGUIN ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE

Popham Beach, Maine

Also at the end of 209 around Popham Beach, you can catch a glimpse of this lighthouse out on Seguin Island. Get your telephoto lens out. Or hire a boat. I didn't have the time or money. The 53 foot tower was established in 1857 with a giant 1st order lens in it. The island doesn't appear to be that high, but the focal plane reaches to 180 feet. The light is still operational and continues to shine through the same lens. The keeper's house in intact. The island is open during the summer. See the part about the boat.
