TAHKUNA TULETORN

We came all the way back on the same road until we came to a turnoff for Posti, took that and headed north to Tahkuna. More dirt and gravel road. Once again you come out to an enclosed compound surrounding the tower. No door photo for this one, and believe me if there was someone around to ask permission, Rein T. would have done so. He tried.
There is a monument out by the water for those lost at sea. And some arrangement of rocks in a circular pattern. No one was around when we pulled up, but some folks drove up a after we had gone out to the marker. This was another spectacular view. A very lovely coastline around the northern point.
Appears to have an old lantern room sitting there at the base of the tower. Built in 1875, the tower stands as tall as it is above sea level, 43 meters.
