WHALEBACK LIGHTHOUSE
Portsmith, New Hampshire

From the same pier that I took photos of Fort Constitution Lighthouse, I took a couple of this one. The photo I saw in a book did not have the adjacent house. But this was the only lighthouse that can be seen from Kittery, Maine, besides Fort Constitution. So if that is the case, then this lighthouse was originally built in 1820, but just plain wore out from the ferocity of the Atlantic storms, and was replaced in 1872. It still flashes.
