GOELDI'S MONKEY

I sure thought this pair was adorable. And just like all their close relatives in other small monkeys, they jump around a lot. And very curious. They're known as Goeldi's Monkeys and it looks to me like they just came out of the hairdresser's.

This was a family in the Woodland Park Zoo that had a home in that hot greenhouse, the Tropical Asia exhibit,  with the Ocelot, Anaconda, etc. However as of my last visit during the Christmas holidays, they had been moved to a non-viewing area and replaced by Golden Lion Tamarins, which despite their rich color, aren't as cute as these two. These two were the male and female pair and there was a 3rd one, a youngster. That's the one in the picture below that  is looking at you upside down. Often it would scamper across the vines and branches to lean up against the glass window to look into the camera lens when I had it up against the glass.

You know me, I'm not the expert, so if you click this link, you can discover more about these darling little critters:  Goeldi's Monkey
